lumikkaは、2022年に設立された日本とフィンランドを拠点とするデザインユニットです。私たちは、「つくること」と「つたえること」を通じてものごとに新たな視点を与え、人々の日常に自由と喜び、感動を与えることを目指しています。私たちの仕事はまず徹底したリサーチから始まり、思考と実験を繰り返しながら適切なアウトプットのかたちを探究します。これまでの主な活動としては、18-20世紀のフィンランドデザインのリサーチおよびオンラインショップの運営、フィンランドのデザイン・自然・文化全般に関する取材（本やウェブメディアへの文章／写真の提供）など、活動は領域横断的に展開されています。現在は、これまでのリサーチに基づいたデザインワーク／アートワークの制作へ向けて日々実験を続けています。
lumikka is a design unit established in 2022, based between Japan and Finland. Through making and communicating, we aim to offer new perspectives on the everyday, bringing a sense of freedom, joy, and quiet wonder to people’s lives. Our work begins with in-depth research, followed by continuous cycles of thinking and experimentation to explore the most fitting form of expression. Our past activities span disciplines such as research on Finnish design from the 18th to 20th centuries, the operation of an online shop, and the production of articles and photographs for books and web media covering Finnish design, nature, and culture. Currently, we are deepening our practice by creating original design and art works inspired by these ongoing explorations.
京都工芸繊維大学大学院工芸科学研究科デザイン学専攻修了。デザインオフィスnendoを経て、2022年よりlumikkaとしての活動をはじめる。在学中にアアルト大学へ交換留学を行い、帰国後も日本とフィンランドを行き来しながら文化/芸術に関するリサーチと作品の制作を継続的に行っている。主な興味は人間の営みから生まれるものとそれが生み出す関係性にあり、国籍や性別、文化や社会などのあらゆる境界を超えて共有し得る原初的な感情/感動をつくることを目指している。
Completed a master’s degree in design at Kyoto Institute of Technology. After working at nendo, Inc., in 2022, he began his practice as lumikka. While studying, he participated in an exchange program at Aalto University, and continues to work between Japan and Finland, engaging in research and creative production related to culture and the arts. His interest lies in things that emerge through human activity and relationships. Grounded in an interdisciplinary way of thinking shaped by architectural studies, he explores ways of creating fundamental emotions and moments of resonance that can be shared beyond boundaries of nationality, gender, culture, and society.
上智大学大学院理工学研究科応用化学専攻修了。キヤノン株式会社にて材料開発に携わったのち、デザインリサーチャーとしてユーザーリサーチや部門横断型プロジェクトのファシリテーションを行う。その過程でアアルト大学にてデザインマネジメントを専攻。人や物事にじっくり向き合うなかで生まれる小さな気づきや揺らぎのようなものに関心があり、個人やチームが対話や内省を深めていくプロセスを支援している。また、洋裁や編みものなどの手しごとに向き合いながら、自分の感覚に立ち返る時間を大切にしている。
Completed a master’s degree in applied chemistry at Sophia University. Worked at Canon Inc. on materials development and later as a design researcher, conducting user research and facilitating cross-functional projects. During this period, studied design management at Aalto University. Her interest lies in the subtle shifts and quiet insights that emerge through close attention to people and things. She supports individuals and teams in deepening dialogue and reflection, and values time spent with hands-on practices such as sewing and knitting as a way to return to her senses.
